Training / Behavioural Consultation

Service Description

Your initial consultation will usually be in your own home where you and your dog feel most comfortable and relaxed with the least distractions. If for any reason this is not the case please let us know and we can arrange for this to be carried out at Barkmoral. The consultation is an opportunity for you both to be observed, heard and understood. We will assess together the difference between behaviour, emotional needs and communication and help you in the exchange of information. I promote Positive Reinforcement training with force free methods and as a Concept trainer we will encourage and explore possibilities for the dog to start using their brain in a positive productive way to make good choices which we will reward. By empowering you with new found skills and methods we are encouraging the dog to make good choices which will build a wonderful relationship filled with compassion, awareness and empathy. Each consultation is different. We maybe in a position to start with training immediately during the consultation session whereas others may require us to utilise the consultation to obsere and planning specifically for a structured program Consultations frequently take approx 2 hours If you have any concerns with reactivity or aggression then please discuss this with us prior to the consultation. We will consider Time for the dog to process the information, not put them under pressure and allow a natural emotional response Space is important as we know distance helps dogs but also emotional and mental space so they dont become too stressed. Safety measures must be in place to ensure everyone including the dog is safe and doesnt feel threatened or upset in any way. Following the consultation we may discuss the results of the consultation, our findings and our suggestions for your program.

Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel any Day School or Training service, seven days notice is required in order to process a full refund. If less than seven days notice is provided then a refund will not be possible except in exceptional circumstances as decided by Barkmoral. If you wish to re-arrange any pre-booked Training sessions for any reason, 72-hours notice is required. In the case that 72-hours notice is not received, an admin fee of £25 will be incurred.
