Our masterclasses start by providing a theory class where you attend (sans doggo) to learn the principles of the lessons and skills we will be working on.

These theory sessions will include:

• What the behaviour is we are trying to target

• Understanding the characteristics of the behaviour 

• Understand the causes of the behaviour

• Understanding the emotions of both the dog and human prior to and during these behaviours

• What the improved behaviour situation looks like

• How to assess each part of the situation: what you are doing before the start of the behaviour, what signs your dog is reading, what happens within you and the dog when the behaviour starts, what happens during the behaviour, and what happens after

• Based on the assessment of each stage of the behaviour, work out alternative actions and how to alter them.

• Implement methods to prevent behavioural arrisal.

Once the theory session has been completed, outside learning is implemented prior to the practical session, where theory is then put into practice in a supervised session with your dog. This is your chance to try the new tricks, mess up, get it wrong, and finally get to grips with it, so when you go home, its as if life has always been this easy.

After the practical session is complete, there will be a follow up to see how the behavioural improvement is going and assess whether further training is necessary.
